Meet The Coaches
Coach Dawson attended Westlake High School in Fulton County, GA,
where he was All-State in football and basketball. He received a full
football scholarship to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill
upon completion of high school. After a successful college football career as a
Defensive Tackle (as well as Tight End), he signed on as a
professional free agent with the Indianapolis Colts. Following his
professional career, Coach Dawson continued to coach, train, and mentor
athletes throughout the years, and his passion for helping the youth
continues to drive him to this day. He is currently a varsity assistant
coach at Woodward Academy. Coach Dawson lives in Tyrone, GA and
is married to Tiffany McGee Dawson. They are the parents of two boys,
Weston (13) and Davis (2).

Coach Wood was born and raised in Newnan, GA and attended Newnan High School. He was a superb athlete lettering in baseball and football. In football, he was a 2-time All-Region and All-County fullback putting up exceptional numbers during his career at Newnan. He earned a football scholarship to attend Grambling State University and played running back and special teams for the Tigers. He was a part of the 2005 SWAC Championship Team. He began his coaching career in Chicago, IL in 2016 at Gary Comer High School. He was the assistant coach and help the school win their first championship title. Coach Wood now resides in Decatur, GA and is a proud father of four children; Andrew (12), Ahna (10), Ahmena (8), and Ahmara (3).

Coach Terrell was born and raised in Hogansville, GA and attended Callaway High School. Terrell graduated in 2018 and during his time there, he received may awards for being such a standout player. He was a 2-time All-State defensive lineman, received a scholarship to play for Western Kentucky University. Coach Terrell was a 4 year letterman for WKU and graduated in May of 2022. After graduation, he began his coaching career in baseball and football at The Heritage High School in Newnan, GA. He is currently the defensive lineman coach for the Hawks.

Coach Parks was born and raised in Lagrange, GA and attended Callaway High School. He was a 4 star athlete and received multiple awards including All-State and All-Region from his sophomore to his senior year. He received a scholarship to play for Auburn University. Coach Parks played two years for the Tigers before transferring to Coffeyville Community College for one year. During his time there, he became a Juco All-American and placed in the CCC’s Hall of Fame. He then went on to finish his last two years at the University of Southern Miss. Coach Parks pursued his passion and begin his coaching career at The Heritage High School in Newnan, GA. He is currently the Wide Receivers Coach as well as the assistant coach for the Middle School.

Coach McGee comes to us by way of Forest Hills High School in Marshville, NC and received a scholarship to Georgia Tech as an Offensive Tackle. He ultimately winded up in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams (Won a Super Bowl ring), New England Patriots, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Following his career with the NFL, he signed on to play for the Frankfurt Galaxy (NFL Europe), winning the World Bowl Championship in 1999. Additionally, he had a brief stint in the now-defunct XFL. Because of his passion for the game of football, Coach McGee got into coaching and now inspires his athletes with that same passion.

Coach Teagle was born and raised in Newnan, GA and attended Newnan High School where he set a school record during his senior year football season. He was a 4 year starter on varsity for the football team and basketball team. As a starting linebacker for Newnan, David set a single season record with 171 solo tackles. That record lasted for 10 years until Alec Ogletree broke that record in 2010 with 182 solo tackles. David received many awards and was the defensive team captain for 3 years. David succeeded on and off the field as a leader and also had a great basketball career helping his team advance to the Elite 8 as a senior. David and his wife Angel have 3 children; Tahj, Heidi, and Aden. GOD 1ST, FAMILY 2ND, EVERYTHING ELSE 3RD.
Coach Sherwood is from Atlanta, GA and was a standout at Creekside High School. He earned a scholarship to play for Auburn University as a cornerback and became a SEC Champion. Since 2018, he’s been training college and NFL players: Johnathan Jones, Brian Branch, Marquel Harrell, Venzell Boulware, Mike and Taco Wright, and Jared Nedd just to name a few.
